This 4* chalet is a real find for a family or two couples wanting their own tranquil space not too far from all the action.
Sleeping four people, it’s rare to find such a delightful private property for a small party. Not only do you have your own detached chalet, but there is also a delightful outdoor seating area which is perfect for catching the last of the sunshine.
The location is perfect too - right opposite the Nant-Bossonet button lift yet on a quiet road, just a few minutes walk from the popular village of La Clusaz, where you’ll find a great choice of restaurants, bars and shops.
Le Petit Mazot means the little shed, and although that is how this chalet started its life, it has now been extended and transformed into a warm and welcoming home which makes an ideal base for a holiday in the beautiful Aravis mountains.

It sleeps four persons in two double bedrooms. The cosy sitting room has a flat-screen television and DVD player. Unique artwork and design details make this a very special place to stay.
The modern kitchen is exceptionally well-equipped, with every item you’d expect to find, as well some you wouldn’t, such as a grill stone! There’s a also a separate laundry with a washing machine and tumble-drier.
Outside there’s a delightful shaded seating area, perfect for relaxing on a hot summer night, and a brick-built barbecue.
About the area ...
Skiers of all abilities can ski almost to the door of this convenient La Clusaz chalet.
There’s a ski lift and a ski-bus stop just 100m away, and the Aravis ski pass gives you access to 220km of pristine pistes, with something for all abilities - the weekly flood-lit descent in La Clusaz is a must!
The local ESF ski school holds lessons for beginnners on the piste close to the chalet, and cross-country skiers will find great terrain at Lac des Confin and the Glieres plateau, just a short drive away.
Non-skiers will have no time to be bored either, with an ice-skating rink and cinema in La Clusaz, as well as sledging, snow-shoe walking, dog-sledding and sleigh rides. If you’re looking for the ultimate in relaxation, let your cares float away in the heated outdoor pool at La Clusaz, while the snow falls gently around you.
In the summer, the shady terrace at Chalet Le Petit Mazot is the perfect place to while away a sunny day, but there’s so much to do in the La Clusaz area, you’ll wish you’d booked for longer.
Walking or biking in the mountains is a pleasure, and all the hard work is done for you if you take the ski lift to the top and bike or walk down at your own pace - pick up a map of trails at the tourist office in La Clusaz.
Adrenalin junkies can try paragliding, canyoning, climbing, mountain-biking or white-water rafting. Via ferrata is a great family day out, with children as young as eight able to explore the mountains safely on iron walkways, secured to a harness.
The beautiful medieval town of Annecy is less than 30 minutes drive away. There are several excellent golf courses and the lake, the cleanest in Europe, is a great place for swimming and water sports, or just hire a boat and explore some of the peaceful lakeside beaches.

From the Owner
Built in 1851, Chalet Le Petit Mazot still belongs to our family...
“A “Mazot” was originally a type of small Savoyard shed built on agricultural land - this particular one was only 16m2!
Traditionally, mazots weren’t used as living spaces but as safe places to store the family’s precious goods and belongings such as cereals, the harvest, seeds for the coming year, Sunday best clothing and shoes, paperwork etc. Mazots were always located a distance away from the main building to keep them safe from the risk of fire.
The mazot which became the chalet “Petit Mazot” was built in 1851 by a man named François Clavel. 100 years later it was transferred onto a concrete base measuring 5m x 6m in order to provide solid foundations before it was turned into a proper house. Today Le Petit Mazot is still owned by my family.
For a few years now we’ve been rebuilding it; we’ve enlarged it and refurbished it to turn it into a cosy and unique pretty mountain chalet with thoroughly modern equipment. Ludovic Masson
“Everything was perfect, thank you!”
We spent magical moments in this little chalet where everything is made to make you feel at home. The equipment and impeccable cleanliness have to be mentioned. Many walks nearby ! We'll be back !

Chalet close to town but far enough for peace and quiet. A perfect location for alpine walks.

“A really lovely week's holiday”
We had a really good week. The chalet is lovely and very practical. It would have been super if it had been just a little bigger. Everything has been thought of, and Ludovic is very helpful. We really loved the walks in the area.
Christine B. - 02/09/2018
Lovely, well equipped chalet with a cosy feel, in a picturesque alpine village.
Lots of activities to do, and a pretty village with a wide variety places to eat.

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Petit Mazot”
The chalet is well equipped and comfortable. We really appreciated the attitude of the owner, Ludovic, who very clearly oversees the the smooth running of operations and the comfort of the guests. We recommend this chalet.
Marie Claire S. - 11/03/2017
“We really enjoyed our stay. ”
The chalet is close to the slopes (3 or 4 minute walk). It's also the perfect size for a small group. Often chalets are too large for 3 people. Only thing missing is an open fire. Ludo is a very friendly owner and responded immediately to any questions we had. La Clusaz is a great ski area and a pretty town.
Nick S. - 14/01/2017
Dear Ludovic, I would like to thank you very much for your wonderful welcome. We had a great stay in your chalet, the location is so nice. This is a well prepared rental, for a fantastic accommodation. Thank you again and we wish you all the best.

“A great stay in Le Petit Mazot. ”
We really enjoyed the chalet and Ludovic provided an excellent service. Location is perfect, property is small and picturesque, with an awesome terrace. Thanks for everything and for making the holiday one to remember.
Gordon F. - 23/01/2016
“Thank you for everything”
This chalet is GREAT. So perfect we would have loved to stay longer... Hopefully another time ! We will soon come back to La Clusaz. We were really happy to (already) enjoy the snow.
Priscilla J. - 26/11/2015
Lovely chalet and really nice resort. We enjoyed the sunshine everyday on the terrace. Thank you Ludovic for being so available and easy going. We hope to come back soon.
Quentin C. - 06/11/2015
“We will stay here again!”
Le Petit Mazot was as lovely as our last visit in 2014. The tiny details of cleaning product, cooking items and other kitchen extras makes the stay more enjoyable. Although it was late in the season with many restaurants closed it did not spoil our holiday. We hope to return for another cycling event in June and will definitely stay here again.
Dave D. - 05/09/2015
“Great week at Le Petit Mazot.”
The chalet is very comfortable and brilliantly well equipped. Just about everything you could need and more. The outside space and BBQ are brilliant and catch the sun for most of the day. It's just a short walk into the village to the many great quality bars and restaurants. Definitely recommended. Ludovic is really friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. We were in La Clusaz for the mountain biking, which is excellent, there are probably enough trails to keep you interested for a week and they are well maintained and signed.
Paul J. - 25/07/2015
Le Petit Mazot is a real little gem, tastefully decorated, perfectly equipped and in a quiet location while still being close to the village. Add to that the warm welcome and Ludo's efficiency and it's perfect! Thanks Ludo!
Annie V. - 20/06/2015
“Superb property in a stunning location”
Stunning location and close to all local facilities - bars, shops and restaurants. We liked the indoor and outdoor social areas really well thought out. Everything very high quality. Ludo does all he can to help. Thank you - this was probably the best self-catering property we've stayed in!

Why La Clusaz?
Less than an hour from Geneva, La Clusaz offers Alpine action all year round. A traditional farming village, it not only offers great skiing and superb summer activities, but also a real community feel, whenever you visit.
Great restaurants, bars and nightlife combine with local markets, festivals and traditions to give you the best of all worlds.
